Rotary dryers are generally adapted to granular materials. Especially for drying sand, river sand, quartz sand, the performance are excellent. The advantages of the sand dryer are large production capacity, wide application range, small flow resistance, large fluctuation range in operation, and convenient operation.

The dryer is a rotating cylinder that is slightly inclined to the horizontal. The material is feed from the higher end, the hot air enters from the lower end, and is in counter current contact with the material, the hot air and the material are simultaneously flowed into the cylinder. As the rotating material of the cylinder is moved by gravity to the lower end. During the forward movement of the wet material in the cylinder, so that the wet material is dried, and then sent out at the discharge end through a belt conveyor or a screw conveyor.

The rotary dryer has many good characters like: high drying efficiency, big capacity, high running rate, saving energy, easy for maintenance, long working life. Variety angle of the lifter will increase the heating exchange rate and short drying time.

Working principle
wet materials are sent into hopper by belt conveyor or bucket elevator, then enter into a large revolving cylindrical tube. The tube has slope slightly so that the discharge end is lower than the feeding end in order to convey materials through dryer. There are many lifting boards which fixed on the inner wall of the tube. During drying process, materials are lifting up repeatedly and contact with hot air sufficiently. Then the moisture contained in materials is steamed. At the end of , the waste gas is released into atmosphere by draft fan .
